Cool stuff for your guests - South Beach

Northern California, simply put, has a ton of unique wedding venues.  From the Napa valley, to the northern coast, to the streets of San Francisco, you'll have no problem finding the location that's just right for you.  And what's even better is that your guests are going to consider your wedding a destination event.  Your guests are really going to want to explore.

Often, however, they won't know where to go.  And even if you live here, they'll likely consider you a bit too busy to ask you for any sightseeing tips during your wedding day. ; )

So these blogs are all about places that are great for your guests to go either on their own or with an organized group after your wedding.

Today, it's South Beach.  Now, I know you're thinking bikini clad women, liposuction, spray tans and no-carb diets.  But this is not THAT South Beach.  THIS one, located in Point Reyes National Seashore, is as far away from THAT one in personality as it is in terms of miles.  This South Beach is a gorgeous stretch of beach along the northern side of the great protrusion that is Point Reyes National Seashore.

Wreck near Inverness

South Beach is the quintessential northern California beach experience.  It's often blustery, it's often chilly, it's often deserted, it's always gorgeous.  What I really love about this beach is that it's only about  5 miles away from Drake's Bay Oyster Farm.  This oyster farm has been in operation for a little over 100 years - and it has the mountains of oyster shells to prove it.

huge oysters!

So if you're looking for a little getaway after (or before) the wedding, I highly recommend this secluded strip of sand.
